Our web site was founded in 1997 with one goal, help the local community organizations, Village of Babylon government and small businesses develop an internet presence.
In 1997 we recognized the need to help merchants develop web sites and grow their businesses online before most small business owners even had computers. At first, we allowed local organizations and merchants internet space to post helpful information / products for our users to view and purchase, but as time went on and the internet grew they found the need to have their own web sites, so BabylonVillage.com transformed into a portal / gateway of Babylon Village related web sites, information and videos.

 Third Annual Family Fun Day The Family Fun Day, scheduled for Saturday, September 6th, has been postponed until Saturday, September 13th. Please join your friends and neighbors in Babylon Village for the Third Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, September 13th,2008. 3P.M.-7P.M. at the Babylon Elementary School Field. Tickets are $1o.oo per adult and $5.00 per child. This includes a barbecue,drinks and dessert.
All proceeds benefit The Mike Greene Great Guy Foundation.

Walk for Wantagh Students Walk-a-thon
The Walk for Wantagh Students Walk-a-thon was Saturday July 12th and the walkers came out in numbers. They walked from Cedar Creek Park and followed the bike path down to the Jones Beach and then back. We want to say Thank You to anyone who made this event a success. The Wantagh Students needed us to come together and raise funds to help pay for the Sports, Clubs and Extracurricular Activities which where cut in the contingency budget and together we all made a difference. The walk-a-thon was able to fundraise over $100,000. State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo Jr. (R-Merrick) also announced a $75,000 donation from the State Legislature, presented by him and Assemb. Dave McDonough (R-North Merrick) that makes $175,000 in one day.
I would like to thank Gil Cosenza from State Farm Insurance, Nino and Paula from Omni Gold / Omnibus Fashions 72 E Main Street, Charlie and Jill of Hoyler Electric and Bali Hair Salon for their generous support by sponsoring my son's and the other kids in this walk.  The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition has developed a program called "Lend a Helping Hand".
It's purpose is to offer help to a woman diagnosed with breast or gynecological cancer. We know that this disease can throw a person's life into a tailspin. Taking care of the family, home, job and any other responsibilities can become difficult.
It is our hope and goal to "lend a helping hand" and offer a variety of services that will relieve some of the stresses and demands of daily life.

2nd Thursday Concert Series
Milton & The Band will be leading off the Babylon Village Arts Council concert series. Milron has played sold out gigs , opening for acts like British pop star Jamie Cullum and singer/writer Shelby Lynne. Milton's song,"In the City" was voted one of the best songs of the year by WFUV station director Rita Houston. In June '08 Milton and the Band launched their new CD "Grand Hotel" at two sold out shows at Joe's Pub in NYC.

Poets in the Village
The Babylon Village Arts Council begins its second season with the poetry of Steven Schmidt, host of the Northport Arts Coalition's monthly Poets in the Ports readings, and Philip Postiglione, a local South Shore poet. There will be an open mic session at the end.
The event will ne held at the Babylon Public LIbrary, 24 South Carll Ave. on Sunday, September 21 from 24PM. This event is free and opened to the public. Post your upcoming event .:

The Babylon Village Arts Council is proud to present its first in a series of digital photography workshops to be lead by Monica Freidrich, local photographer. Participants will learn about exposure,composition and selecting images for print in a group critique. The 15th Anniversary Walk-Along for Lupus is the Lupus Alliance`s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Join in the fun and help those with lupus who live in the Long Island/Queens are live better lives, while also supporting the search for the cure.

Introduction to Cartooning
Babylon Village Arts Council is sponsoring its first art class entitled "Introduction to Cartooning" to be held at the Conklin House located at 280 Deer Park Ave. from 7-8PM on the following dates: Oct. 27,Nov.3,10,17 &24. Edward Lee, well known local artist , will instruct the participants through a step-by-step method, students in grades 6-12. Class size is limited to a maximum of 10. Registration fee is $10 non refundable. Art supplies are included in the fee and forms are available at the Babylon Public Library. This workshop is open to Babylon Village residents only.  Babylon Classic 10K Dirty Sock Run
This years race was held on Sunday August 17th 2007 at 8am. The race was very successful the past 3 years and please congratulate our race director Hapi Aour from Glens Dinette when you see him. His hard work along with the great volunteers, Village of Babylon and sponsors made for an enjoyable day in Babylon Village.
